guest post by Hannah

Hi there, y'all, I'm Hannah from [through my keyboard] and I'm here to guest-post for Rachel!

Here's a poem I wrote for Rachel's ministry, Teddy's Cause.
Teddy Bear, in a box,
With plastic cover on top
Seeing happy faces pass by
In a little small-town shop.

Teddy Bear, box picked up,
Thrown into a cart,
He didn't know that in this day
A journey would truly start

Teddy Bear, taken home,
wrapped in paper and bows
Waiting, waiting, below a tree
Twitching his little nose

Teddy Bear, unwrapped with glee!
And held to a happy heart!
Named, his life would forever be
Ignited at that start

Teddy Bear, played with happily
"Would you come to tea?"
Taken with everywhere
"Teddy belongs to me!"

Teddy Bear, on a picnic ride
Driving in a seat
Awaiting happy playtime days
"oh, won't this be neat!"

Teddy Bear, played with a while
"Now it's time to go!"
In the car, driving off
And they didn't know.....

Teddy Bear, left alone,
Looking to and fro
Pondering in his little heart
"Where did the people go?"

Teddy Bear, sitting there,
The moon would rise and fall
Forever neglected, it would seem.
Life had no meaning at all.

Teddy Bear, awakes at last,
To a girl's pondering eyes
"What is this, a teddy bear?"
She wonders with surprise

Teddy Bear, taken home
Sewed and nurtured back to life
In this girl's loving arms
The end of all strife

Teddy Bear, in a package,
packed up for a long way away.
"You go now, little teddy bear,
and make a child's day."

Teddy Bear, in Vietnam
Box opened with surprise
Happy faces, smiling children
Looking into his eyes

Teddy Bear, home at last,
Loved for eternity
Finally at home, now,
This is where he's meant to be.

Teddy Bear, in a box,
With plastic cover on top
Not knowing that the meaning of his life
Would never, ever stop.

I hope you liked it, and thanks, Rachel, for letting me do this!!!
