When I drink tea,
It feels like the blood of the English in me pumps blood through my veins. its cultured feel of the nice feel of china tea cups and saucers.
The black tea ( not black but its called that- caffine added) with cream, the smooth taste of it as you drink the hot stuff.
I grew up with my parents drinking tea all my life. And I thought. How boring is that bevarege! I always drank herb tea when I drank tea because I was too young to drink caffine tea. " It stunts your growth," They'd joke. I wonder if it does, cause I stopped growing. ( haha. very funny Rachel)
And They drank it morning and lunch. EVERY day! tea addicts I thought. Then I started drinking tea myself. and I grew to like it. Somedays there were tea cookies and chocolate on them. mmm!
Remember back then when your reading old books set in England? when there was tea hour. Where they sat down and drank their tea and ate their cookies and talked. Quaint.
I wonder if they still do that. Plus if you like tea, they'll be more oppurtunities to drink it, at people's houses with cookies they offer, just like after church yesterday when we were visiting a person we knew. It was a good time, just a informal time, where we visited and drank tea and ate cookies.
" Tea?" They ask looking at my parents.
They nod and then the hostess looks at me " What would you like?"
" Tea," I say. And of course they think I'm being polite but I'm not, I do rather like tea. And it brings out the British in me. ( Did you know I was british- not fully) and I feel as if I'm bringing out my British roots like our forfathers did, sipping tea in America, like Jefferson and Those famous people.
Do you like tea?
Lovely post!
